Articleship, industrial training and internship - which one are you looking for?

The three get used interchangeably in conversation, and they are not the same thing. Articleship is the practical training a CA student serves under a practising chartered accountant, and it is the one with the most rules attached. Industrial training is the stretch some students serve in industry rather than in practice, usually later in the training period. An internship is the broader category - a fixed-term role at a firm or a company, open to students on any of the three tracks, and the form most CS and CMA students will be looking at.

Listings on this page carry whichever the employer chose, so the fastest way to narrow down is the category filter rather than the search box. What actually gets a student shortlisted

Firms hiring students are reading dozens of near-identical CVs, all listing the same syllabus. What moves one to the top of the pile is rarely marks. It is specificity: the software you have actually used, the kind of work you have actually done, the filings you have actually touched. A line saying you have prepared GST returns in Tally beats a paragraph describing your enthusiasm for taxation.

The second thing is fit with what the posting asked for. Every listing here spells out its requirements and the skills it wants, and the employer sees how closely your profile matches them. Filling in the skills section of your profile properly is a genuinely high-return twenty minutes, because it is what that comparison is drawn from.

The third is simply being early. Applicant counts are shown on every card. A posting two days old with four applicants is a materially better use of your time than a popular one from five weeks ago, and sorting by newest is how you find them.

Applying from a smaller city, or looking to work remotely

Not every student lives within commuting distance of a large firm's office, and the list reflects that: postings come from practices and companies across the country, and the location filter goes down to the city. If you would rather not move, filter to your own city first and see what is actually there before widening the search.

Remote internships in this field are real but narrower than in software - they cluster in bookkeeping, compliance support, data work and content. The work-from-home filter shows only postings the employer has marked remote, so it is an honest view of how many there are at any moment rather than a padded one.
